The Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust is proud to offer the Dr. Daniel Fisher House as the ideal site for your special event.  Whether you’re planning a wedding reception, a cocktail or dinner party or a small meeting, we are able to accommodate from 10 to 250 guests.  Built in 1840, the Fisher House is regarded as one of the finest examples of Federal style architecture on the Island.  It is centrally located in the charming village of Edgartown, next to the stately Old Whaling Church and within easy walking distance to many hotels, inns and B&B’s.

You will have access to the entire first floor of the Fisher House for your event: a formal entrance foyer, grand hall, parlor and elegant ballroom with a Steinway grand piano. The mansion is impeccably maintained and beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers, silk drapes and decorative marble fireplaces.  These sophisticated surroundings are enhanced by the semicircular verandah overlooking beautiful gardens.  Steps lead from the verandah to the bluestone terrace, which can accommodate as many as 150 guests.  Our spacious grounds can be tented for even larger events. Tucked in a secluded corner of the 4-acre property is the elegant sunken garden with its climbing roses, pond and fountain, which provides a perfect backdrop for your photographs.

The fully equipped commercial kitchen enables your caterer to service your event with ease.  Our knowledgeable staff will take time to discuss your event and offer recommendations for Island caterers, party rental companies, florists, photographers, event planners and other wedding vendors.  These professionals will orchestrate all the details to make your vision a reality, enabling you to relax and truly enjoy your party.  With the Dr. Daniel Fisher House as your reception site, you are choosing a Vineyard classic.
