Performing Arts & Corporate Venues

The Preservation Trust is pleased to offer three exceptional landmarks for your meeting, concert, dance performance, speaker presentation or movie screening. All performing arts venues are outfitted with theatrical lighting and sound systems. Fees include five hours of technical assistance.

Grange Hall and Upstairs Theater

Steeple of the Old Whaling Church The Old Whaling Church, Edgartown
One of the Island's most recognized landmarks, the acoustically brilliant Whaling Church has hosted performances by Andre Previn, most of the Taylor family (James, Kate, Liv, Huey, Ben and Sally), Carly Simon, Tom Rush, Arlo Guthrie and many others. Furnished with a Steinway Concert "C" grand piano, it's perfect for an "unplugged" concert, gospel choir or concert pianist performance. It is also a unique venue for corporate annual meetings. The lower-level Baylies Room allows for post-concert receptions, smaller meetings or breakout space. This magnificent venue is conveniently located on Main Street in Edgartown.
Old Whaling Church - Capacity 500 seats
Fee: $750 per date (5 hours) $45 per additional hour
Baylies Room - Capacity 80 seated, 125 standing
Fee: $150 for meetings; $300 with use of kitchen

The Union Chapel, Oak Bluffs The Union Chapel, Oak Bluffs
Located at the top of busy Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs, the Union Chapel's unique octagonal shape and freestanding seats make it an extremely versatile performing arts venue. Popular for dance performances, it can provide a Theater-In-The-Round configuration or the more traditional theater-style seating. The Chapel is highly desirable for musical performances with its wonderful acoustics and concert grand piano, formerly on the stage at Radio City Music Hall.
Capacity: 385 seats
Fee: $500 per date (5 hours) $45 per additional hour

The Grange Hall The Grange Hall and Upstairs Theater, West Tisbury
The Main Hall at the Grange accommodates up to 150 guests for a seated event. Its fun, casual atmosphere and rustic charm make it a natural for clambakes and theme dinners. With theatrical performances dating back to 1859 the Grange Hall Theater is the island's oldest performing arts venue. Located in the heart of West Tisbury's historic district, the Theater is home to W.I.M.P., the Island's raucous comedy improv troupe as well as the Movie Museum's classic film series. We also host jazz concerts, talent shows, and speaker presentations. The Grange is on the Island's public transportation route and has ample parking.
Main Hall - Capacity 150 seated, 200 standing
Fee: $750 midweek, $1,500 weekends
Upstairs Theater - Capacity 125
Fee: $350.00 per date (5 hours) $45 per additional hour
